Sidhil Charity Golf Event 2017

Posted on July 11th 2017

A fantastic time was had by all at this years 'Sidhil Charity Golf Event' held at Forest Pines Golf Resort. On 29th June we were raising funds for Forget me not, last year Sidhil raised nearly £12,000 we are hoping to reach that again this year.

We would like to thank customers, suppliers, and staff for helping to make the day a great success.

Back in January of this year, the Sidhil team chose the Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice as our charity for the year, and set out to raise a total of £10,000 – the sum needed to cover the costs of running the hospice for a day.

Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice currently supports over 250 local children with life shortening conditions and their families in West Yorkshire. However, across the area they cover, it is estimated that there are more than 1,300 children who may need support. The charity must raise £3.8million each year, and with just 6% of this coming from government sources, the support of the community and local business is vital.

So back in January, we began fundraising for the hospice. We know how to work hard and how to play hard here, and fundraising is so much more rewarding and successful when it’s fun too!

Just some of the events in our fundraising calendar this year have included taking part in the Great North Run and other fun runs, an Easter egg raffle, numerous baking days with an amazing array of cakes, buns and savouries – a moment on the lips, and eternity on the hips! – Yorkshire Day celebrations with raffles and a ‘dress down’ opportunity and a very successful Golf Day.

“We rely so much every year on our valued volunteer fundraisers,” stated Sharon Ennis from Forget Me Not Hospice. "Sidhil’s commitment to our work and the enthusiasm with which they have approached the task of raising this sum of money is welcomed by our team – a few more Sidhils in Yorkshire would make our work a lot easier!"
