First Innov8 Low beds delivered to the Royal United Hospital Bath

Posted on December 16th 2015

An initial 20 Innov8 Low ward beds designed and manufactured by Sidhil have been delivered to Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, making a positive contribution to the Trust’s falls prevention strategy and providing high quality equipment for optimum patient care.

Suitable for use as a standard ward bed as well as a low height bed for more vulnerable patients, the Innov8’s functional flexibility (for applications from general wards through to high dependency environments) was an important consideration for the Trust. In addition, the Innov8 Low is compatible with dynamic mattresses currently in use within the hospital.

The Innov8 Low hospital bed features one of the lowest mattress platforms available on the market today at just 22cms, rising to 70cms. Electrically operated functions include auto contouring, giving simultaneous adjustment of backrest and kneebreak, with cardiac chair function and auto regression avoiding surface pinching or occupant sliding, as well as Trendelenberg and reverse Trendelenberg positioning. Solid platform panels incorporate ridges for breathability, to simplify decontamination and to improve infection control. Easy to manoeuvre, reducing back or handling problems, the bed benefits from a safe and secure dual sided central locking braking system.

The Innov8 Low is supplied complete with removable cantilever style siderails and is fitted with an extension capability as standard to improve comfort for taller patients. Independence Innov8 beds are reliable and easy to maintain, incorporating superb ergonomics in terms of both manual handling and user comfort.
